About Sherlock Jr.:
This classic silent film from 1924 features comedic genius Buster Keaton as a movie projectionist who dreams of being a detective. Experience Keaton’s extraordinary slapstick humor and unparalleled stunts with live improvised accompaniment by pianist Cary Brown!

Cary Brown received a double degree from the University of Rochester/Eastman School of Music in film studies and piano performance. While taking classes at the George Eastman House, he utilized their extensive cinematic archive to start his own silent film series. After touring extensively with the Skatalites from Jamaica and the New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Cary settled in Putnam County, NY and became the musicians’ coordinator/ballet pianist at Purchase College Conservatory of Dance. Cary regularly provides improvised accompaniment for classic silent films at the Julia Butterfield Library in Cold Spring, NY. He has performed with Summerland Music Society since 2013.
